On Saturday, November 18, The Arc of Cape May County celebrated its first Friendsgiving event held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Erma. Over 80 residents of The Arc’s Group Homes, along with several staff, volunteers, and Board members enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving dinner donated by local vendors and cooked by the staff of Lucky Bones restaurant in Lower Township, owned by David Craig who is also the Vice President of the Board.
CEO of The Arc of Cape May County, Majken Mechling, says about the event: “I am beyond proud to see how our leadership team came together to serve and support our program staff. My deepest thanks to the Arc and church staff for going the extra mile to host our first Friendsgiving event and doing it with grace, love and laughter. I am proud of everyone and the connections we are building with our community to enhance the lives of the people we serve!”
