FLORIO, VIVIAN On August 11th, 2023, Vivian Florio passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones. As a lifelong New Jersey native, Vivian was born to the parents of Rolland and Gladys Hooey and raised in Sussex County until in 1999 moved to Cape May, New Jersey. Vivian was a dedicated mother and wife, first and foremost. She treasured all six of her children, 20 grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana the most. To put into words the kind of person Vivian was is nearly impossible, but nonetheless she had the most vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. It would be wrong to say that Vivian lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter what her physical state was, she was always determined and sharp as a whip. When anyone else would have broken, Viv stayed strong. Through her, we will always know what resilience and perseverance truly looked like. There was never "quit" in her even until her final days. Vivian is predeceased by her parents Rolland and Gladys Hooey, husband Ernest Florio, brother Fred Hooey, daughter Diane Henderson and granddaughter Gianna Florio. She leaves behind her brother Carol Hooey and five children Ernest Florio, James (Barbara) Florio, Lewis (Kelly) Florio, Debra Florio (Carman) DiMeo and Gary (Denise) Florio. As well as her grandchildren Margaret (Joe) Vitelli, Mark (Sue) Ehrhardt, Arthur (Linda) Ehrhardt, Troy (Tammi) Henderson, Stephanie (Chris) Fort, Barbara (Dan) Burke, Jamie (Brian), Ernie (Danielle) Florio, Kim (Sean) McNulty, Michael (Becky) Florio, Jessica Florio, Carissa (Benoit) DiMeo, John DiMeo, Caitlin (Jake) Maltz, Thomas Florio, Gabriella Florio and Gino Florio. As well as her almost 29 great-grand-children, 7 great-great grandchildren, caring caretaker Anna, countless nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Service will be held at Wood Funeral Home in Branchville, New Jersey on Friday August 18th, 2023 from 9:00am-12:00am.
