On February 28 and 29, the final surface course paving of Fishing Creek Road (Cr 639) will proceed.  Fishing Creek Road between Bayshore Road (Cr 613) and Tabernacle Road (Cr 647) will be closed to south bound traffic. North bound traffic will be maintained. The roadway will be closed to south bound traffic and south bound traffic will be detoured between the hours of 7:00am to 5:00pm during active periods of paving. Local traffic will be maintained, and residents will always have access to their homes. The roadway will be reopened to two-way traffic at the end of each day.

Traffic heading south on Bayshore Road approaching Fishing Creek Road will detour south onto Bayshore Road (Cr 603) to Townbank Road (Cr 648) where they will be directed east along Townbank Road to Seashore Road (Cr 626). Traffic wishing to continue south along Fishing Creek Road intending to access Breakwater Road will be able to do so at the Bayshore Road/ Breakwater Road intersection.

Traffic heading north along Tabernacle Road approaching Shunpike Road will detour northwest along Shunpike Road to Breakwater Road and will continue west along Breakwater Road and back to Bayshore Road at the intersection with Breakwater Road. Northbound traffic along Fishing Creek Road, including north bound Academy Road traffic, will be maintained.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution along the detour routes and to exercise caution while travelling along Fishing Creek Road at night as there will be limited visibility and a 2” drop off along the centerline at the interface of the new and existing paving until paving is complete.

During the paving of the Breakwater Road and Fishing Creek Road intersection, there will be additional temporary closures of Breakwater Road for traffic wishing to cross through the intersection until the new paving is suitable for traffic loads.
