DONNELLY, REBECCA DORSEY December 21, 1933 - November 8, 2023 Rebecca Dorsey Donnelly (Myers) grew up in Baltimore, MD and spent summers in Cape May, eventually retiring to Cape May with her husband Bill in 1989. Dorsey, as she was known to most, had the biggest heart and a passion for life and beauty. She valued relationships and community. She loved nature, candlelight dinners, walking the promenade, biking, swimming, volunteering and all kinds of soulful music. Being diagnosed with bi-polar illness, her life was challenging at times, yet she remained at the heart of the family in spite of the difficulties. The last eight years of her life she struggled with a major depressive disorder that took away her love and joy for life. Dorsey passed away peacefully due to complications with pneumonia in Baltimore. She is survived by her five daughters, Anne, Evelyn, Kit, Jay and Rebecca, her ten grand-children, Eliza, Arin, Will, Ida, Hazel, Evan, Kaitlin, McKayla, CC and Sage and two great grandchildren, Mia and Liam. There will be a memorial held in Cape May on Saturday May 11, 2024 from 1-4pm at the Donnelly residence (1101 New York Ave). Please contact Kit Donnelly (802-349-7551) if you have any questions. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), the Loveland Foundation, the Trevor Project or any other mental health organization of your choice.
