DESCHATELETS, DENIS Denis Deschatelets, passed away peacefully at his home in Cape May Court House, NJ, on January 13, 2024, at the age of 80. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born on January 31, 1943, in Montpellier, Quebec, Canada, Denis lived a life marked by kindness, thoughtfulness, and friendly demeanor. He lived for his friends and family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Denis is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Claudette Deschatelets; his daughter Brigitte Sherman and her husband Kevin; his granddaughter Danielle Carney and her husband Andrew; and his great-grandchildren Colton, Callie, and Chloe Carney. He also leaves behind a large extended family of neighbors and close friends that became family including Charles and Suzanne Carney and their children who he proudly considered his own. He will be missed by many family members in Canada, all of whom will continue to honor his legacy. After settling in Cape May Court House, Denis proudly worked as a lineman for Atlantic City Electric. He was a dedicated member of the Goshen Fire Company, volunteering for 25 years. Denis's joy in life was evident through his hobbies, which included meeting his buddies for morning coffee and the latest local news, tinkering with antique cars, going boating and fishing, and the freedom he felt while riding his Harley. But nothing compared to the joy he received from the time he spent with his great grandchildren. His absence will be deeply felt, but those who knew him will forever remember Denis's warm smile and the love he generously shared with all. Services will be private. In memory of Denis, the family requests that you follow in his footsteps and perform a random act of kindness and make someone smile, just as Denis did. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
