Decorate your House for “Light Up Cape May!”

An award-winning house from last year’s Light Up Cape May.

From the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May

The Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cape May along with their sponsors at Atlantic City Electric, The Grand Hotel, Crest Saving Bank and J. Byrne Insurance, want to light up the holiday season with a house decorating contest open to any residents in Cape May or West Cape May.

With the increase in second home ownership, there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of Christmas light displays. The chamber has come up with a plan to encourage more participation called Light Up Cape May, which means a Christmas lights contest with prizes.

This season, Light Up Cape May will award prizes for Best Residence, Best Business, Best Window, Best Olde Fashioned Theme, Judges Choice and People’s Choice in Cape May or West Cape May.

The deadline for entries is December 6th and prizes will be awarded on December 12th at 5 p.m., at the Chamber of Commerce Holiday Social at Carney’s, located at 411 Beach Ave in Cape May
