COURT HOUSE – Microbiologist Stormy Freese will give an informative presentation May 31 on Zika virus and what it means for residents and visitors of Cape May County. The seminar will be held at the Mosquito Control Building, 35 Route 47, North Dias Creek at 7:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend this free seminar to gain a better understanding of Zika. The County Departments of Health and Mosquito Control work together each year to help prevent all mosquito-borne diseases. Both agencies have surveillance programs in place to identify the virus in people, birds, and mosquitoes. This information is used by the Department of Mosquito Control to target areas in the County to reduce the mosquito population.
