WOODBINE – The Borough of Woodbine will host a “Live Life Healthy” Health & Wellness Fair at the Woodbine Community Center, 812 Longfellow Street, Woodbine, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Fair is being co-sponsored by the Borough of Woodbine Wellness Program, the Parish Nurse Program, Cape Regional Medical Center, and the Cape May County RSVP Program.
Participants will include: AARP Chapter #5292, Woodbine Municipal Alliance, Patti Combs Therapeutic Massage, The Sam Azeez Museum of Woodbine Heritage, Complete Care, Mouse Trap Bowling Lanes, Michelle’s Country Dog Suds, the Puerto Rican Action Committee, Cumberland County Department of Health, The Atlantic County Joint Insurance Fund, and the New Jersey State Police.
Free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar will be offered.
The Cumberland County Department of Health will be providing free lead testing to residents of Cape May that include: children from the ages of 1 year to 18, pregnant mothers (lead testing is very important for these two groups) as well as for other adults .
The New Jersey State Police, Woodbine Barracks, will hold a “Project Medicine Drop” during the event, whereby all are invited to drop off any unused medications for safe and legal disposal.
“Please do take advantage of this springtime opportunity to fine tune your health and learn about important local resources,” added Mayor Pikolycky “I thank all of the participants and organizers and especially thank the Woodbine State Police for using our event as a “Project Medicine Drop” site.”
