WOODBINE – The Woodbine Municipal Alliance three-session Job Readiness Workshop for students from grade seven to fourth year of high school was considered a success.
A total of nine students attended the workshop.
Facilitator Monserrate Gallardo-Rodriguez added, “We even had a grandmother sit with us in two of the three sessions. And the highlight of the workshop was seeing her granddaughters use their transferable baking skills in action. The two granddaughters presented the instructors with a baked goodie each, and a card from them as a thank you for teaching the workshop.”
Topics covered were: Education/Resume Writing, Job Applications/Interview Tips & Roleplay, Job Retention/Career Presentation. The sessions were held at the Woodbine Elementary School.
“I thank Monserrate Gallardo-Rodriguez, Greg Hudgins, and Rubye Hutchinson for all their work on this workshop,” commented Mayor Pikolycky. “I commend the Woodbine Municipal Alliance for making this available for our youth. We hope to see another session of this in the spring.”
