WOODBINE – Woodbine’s Dec. 12 holiday parade was favored by unseasonably warm weather and an ever enthusiastic audience.
It was nice to see the community come out and respond to the Christmas parade and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies, provided by the Fire Department. The children enjoyed meeting Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, taking pictures, and receiving a gift, candy canes which also came from the firefighters and stuffed animals for the youngest, courtesy of the Woodbine Recreation Commission.
Woodbine Elementary School’s “marching band” joined various fire and rescue vehicles and other participants and were followed by a un-flashing Reindeer, who distributed candy contributed by the Woodbine Recreation Commission.
After the parade all joined Santa and the Mayor in lighting the tree, the gazebo lights, and the whole park-like pavilion area.
Everyone then headed over to the Fire House for chocolate cookies, candy canes, hot chocolate, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
