WILDWOOD –The Women of Wildwood (WOW) participated in their second annual Prom Project giveaway to donate and distribute new makeup, gift certificates and dresses to the local high school girls. “Prom is an exciting time in a young woman’s life, but for some the expense associated with it can be quite daunting,” said Maggie Warner, member of WOW. “It is our goal to give back to our community by easing this financial burden so that every girl that wants to attend her prom has the opportunity.”
Members of WOW volunteered their time to collect donations and distribute items at two different events, held at local area high schools. Girls at Wildwood High School and at Wildwood Catholic High School enjoyed the opportunity of picking out brand new makeup and gift certificates, donated by local businesses including; Salon Nine, Ambiance Hair Designs, Perfect Cutz and Acme of Cape May.
“We were so touched by the amount of appreciation we received last year from both the schools and the students,” said Lauren Zuccarello, WOW’s prom project organizer. “So we knew it was important for our organization to continue with this event.”
WOW would like to give a special thanks to the local businesses and community members that made donations towards WOW’s Prom Project event. With their help the organization was able to provide over 50 young women with the items they needed to attend their high school prom.
