THE WILDWOODS — The Greater Wildwoods Tourism Development Improvement Authority (GWTIDA) hosted a destination-wide Familiarization Tour with members of the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW) on June 19.
Writers from New York, Florida and Canada were given a personalized trolley tour of the island, which launched at the Wildwoods sign and showcased the Wildwoods Convention Center, the Doo Wop hotel-motel district, area attractions and the Wildwoods boardwalk.
GWTIDA and its Public Relations agency Suasion Communications Group worked with the Cape May County Department of Tourism to host the tour.
The SATW is a professional association whose purpose is to promote responsible journalism; provide professional support and development for their members; and encourage the conservation and preservation of travel resources worldwide. Members include writers, photographers, editors, film lecturers, broadcast/video/film producers, bloggers, website contributors and owners, creators of mobile apps and public relations representatives. SATW members provide complete, accurate and interesting information on travel destinations, facilities and services.
“We were thrilled to tour this astute group of travel writers around the Wildwoods so that they could see first-hand the endless possibilities for family fun and entertainment this destination offers,” said Ben Rose, director of marketing and public relations for GWTDA.
