Kathleen Graber, an award-winning poet who grew up in Wildwood, NJ, will be featured at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Literature Program’s Visiting Writers Series. Graber will be introduced by Stockton’s Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Creative Writing Stephen Dunn, a winner of the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 2001 for his collection of poems, Different Hours.
The event is free and open to the public. It takes place Thu., Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. in the Alton Auditorium (A-Wing) of the campus here.
Graber is the author of The Eternal City (2010), chosen for the Princeton Series of Contemporary Poets and a finalist for the National Book Award. Her Correspondence (2006) is winner of the Saturnalia Books Poetry Prize and a finalist for the National Poetry Series.
In a recent Publisher’s Weekly review, it was stated Graber’s poems “… (are) so fresh and wild (because of) the associative slips that happen between the distant past and the urgent present.”
“I do believe poetry changes the world: it changes the way we think about the world,” Graber said in a recent interview.
