WILDWOOD — This city’s world famous dog beach just garnered another accolade by being named one of the top two dog beaches in the nation in a poll conducted by USAToday.
Located at Poplar Avenue, Wildwood’s dog beach has been the perfect place for pooches and their people to play while enjoying a day at the beach for the past two seasons and now America knows when it comes to fun for the entire family, Wildwood is the premier vacation destination.
“Our beaches are unparalleled,” said Commissioner Pete Byron who oversees the city’s Department of Beach Services and a long-time advocate of bringing a dog beach to the city. “Our dog beach is just another way that families can enjoy all that Wildwood has to offer.”
According to results of the poll, Wildwood’s dog beach is “A city block wide and 1,500 feet long,” and “the beach offers plenty of room for leashed dogs to soak up the sun.”
With a fenced in area for dogs to run, fresh water available and clean up bags, Wildwood’s dog beach offers everything a dog could need. Couple those things with an unparalleled view of the ocean and soft, white sand and it’s a pup’s paradise.
“We’re thrilled that Wildwood was recognized for its work in making our beaches the best for the entire family,” Byron said. “Even the four-legged members.”
