Wildwood Crest Police Promote Two Officers

WILDWOOD CREST — June 24, 2016 the Wildwood Crest Police Department promoted the following Officers:
Edward Gorski to Lieutenant
Jon Weigand to Sergeant
Lt. Edward Gorski has been a member of the WCPD for 24 years, and was recently assigned as Detective Sergeant for the past four year after serving as Detective for six years and Patrol officer prior to that time. He is an Instructor at the Cape May County Police Academy and recently retired from the Cape May County Regional SWAT team after 10 years. Lt. Gorski will oversee the Operations section of the Police Department.
Dsg. Jon Weigand has been an officer with the WCPD for 16years. He is currently assigned as the Detective Sergeant in the Detective Bureau. Weigand is also a Senior Chief in the U.S. Navy Reserves where he has served for the past 23 years. Jon has an M.B.A. in Criminal Justice from Tiffin University and a BA from Thomas Edison College.
Dsg. Weigand will oversee the Investigations Unit of the Police Department.
