WILDWOOD CREST – The Borough of Wildwood Crest is in need of volunteers to help keep the community’s beaches safe, clean and among the best in the state.
The borough’s Department of Public Works, in conjunction with Ocean Action/New Jersey Clean Communities, will host a Beach Sweep event on Sat., Oct. 20, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteers should email sshearer@wildwoodcrest.org in advance or register at Centennial Park at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue at 9 a.m. on the day of the event.
All participants and volunteers should wear weather-appropriate clothing. The Department of Public Works will provide supplies. The event will be held rain or shine. This Beach Sweep will be extremely helpful to the borough’s already intensive efforts to keep its vast expanse of beaches clean through its Adopt-A-Beach program and other initiatives.
Members of Wildwood Crest’s Adopt-A-Beach program will receive credit for one clean through participation in the Beach Sweep event.
