The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 44 recently recognized Lower Township Councilmen Tom Conrad, Dave Perry and Roland Roy, Jr. for their continuous support of the veterans in our community. The certificate of recognition was awarded to the three after their efforts successfully kept the DAV’s medical transport van on the road and able to take veterans to medical appointments.
“As someone who served in the military, this is a recognition that is personal to me and has tremendous meaning,” said Tom.
Dave added, “I have the utmost respect for those who have served our country. I am glad I can help veterans and serve them in some way while on Council.”
“We can never thank our veterans enough for their service, commitment and heroism. Tom, Dave and I are always thoughtful of this, and look for opportunities to recognize and support the veterans in our community,” said Roland.
Lower Township Council continues its efforts to honor those who served by organizing the first annual Lower Township Veterans’ Parade for Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018. The parade will commence at 11 a.m. in front of the Villas Fire Company and continue down Bayshore Road ending at Township Hall. Council encourages all veterans and veterans organizations who are interested in participating to contact Eileen Kreis at (609) 886-2005 ext. 132.
