SEAVILLE – The Veterans Day Program at Staff Sergeant William Godfrey Memorial Park, Osprey Point, will be held on Fri., Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. and hosted by resident Al Palombo.
Residents Monsignor John Conahan will give the invocation and the National Anthem will be lead by Bob Wurtz.
Members of Marmora VFW Post 8695, under the command of Charles Addelizi, who will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, will attend. Carrying the Colors will be Scout Troop 55 of Tuckahoe.
Ted Behr, Adjutant of Tuckahoe American Legion Post 239, will present The Missing Man Ceremony and the meaning of the POW/MIA Flag. Post Commander Hermon Scheibein will direct the rifle volley.
Joseph Basile, Army veteran and Osprey Point resident, will speak on his experience during the Korean Conflict.
Osprey Point Condo Association President Susan Farrell and Commander Addelizi, who will read a Veterans Day poem, will present wreaths.
The more than 60 veterans of Osprey Point, visitors, and dignitaries will be acknowledged and entertained with patriotic songs.
Resident John Hoffman, Bugler, will present Taps.
All families, friends, and neighbors are welcome to attend to honor our Veterans for their service.
If there is inclement weather, the Service will be held in the Osprey Point Clubhouse where light refreshments will be served.
