AVALON – Various events and activites starting at Avalon Free Public Library May 9 – May 14.
Knitting Instruction at the Avalon Library – Monday, May 9 from 3:30 to 4:30 pm
The Avalon Free Public Library hosts a Knitting instruction group every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30pm at the library. All levels of knitters are welcome.
Mac Users Group at the Avalon Library–Monday, May 9 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Mac Users Group meeting on Monday, May 9 from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m.  Meet with other Mac computer users to share problems and solutions. May’s topic is What’s New for Apple? A Discussion of What’s Here and What’s Coming.
Scrabble at the Avalon Library – Monday, May 9 from 6 to 8 pm
Join the Scrabblers at the Avalon Free Public Library for word play on Monday, May 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. All are welcome.
Feature Film, No Strings Attached, at the Avalon Library-Tuesday, May 10 at 7pm
The Avalon Free Public Library will be showing the film, No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman, Ashton Kutcher, and Kevin Kline on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the elementary school. This film is rated R, no one under 17 will be admitted without a parent or guardian. Viewer discretion is advised. Admission is free.
Mac Computer Class at the Avalon Library –Wednesday, May 11 from 5:30-7:30pm
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Mac computer workshop on Wednesday, May 11 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Topic is Getting to Know Your Mac & Using the Internet. Classes are free but registration is required by calling 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
PC Computer Class at the Avalon Library- Thursday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a PC Computer class on Thursday, May 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. Topic is Computer Help Clinic. Classes are free but registration is required by calling 967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Scrapbook Design& Creation at the Avalon Library- Saturday, May 14 from 10am to Noon
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a Scrapbook Design & Creation Workshop for ages 13 and up on Saturday, May 14 from 10am to Noon. Some supplies are included. Registration is required by calling 609-967-7155 or stopping by the circulation desk.
Creative Writing at the Avalon Library on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to Noon
The Avalon Free Public Library will hold a free Creative Writing class from 10 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, May 14. The sessions are led by Dr. Sue Jacobson. Participants have the option of recording their writings for use as MP3 files posted onto our website.
The Avalon Library received 5 stars in Library Journal’s national rating of public libraries for the third time since 2009, based on statistical performance data collected by the Institute of Museum and Library Services. The library is located at 235 32nd Street and provides free and open access to first class collections, services and programs that inspire, inform and enrich the community.
