“County Hosts Community Blood Drive”
Freeholder Kristine Gabor announced that the Cape May County Department of Health will host an American Red Cross blood drive open to the public on Nov. 26, 2012. The community blood drive will take place from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center located at 12 Moore Road, in the Crest Haven Complex (Exit 11 off the Garden State Parkway).
The American Red Cross continues its vital work of helping people devastated by natural disasters such as Hurricane Sandy. As a result, blood supplies are alarmingly low. Every minute of every day someone needs blood and that blood can only come from a volunteer donor – a person like you who makes the choice to donate.
Twice a year the county holds a blood drive for employees, their families and friends and encourages members of the public to donate blood as well. County employees donate on average 120 pints each year.
Walk-ins are welcome but appointments are preferred. Please call Judy Startare at 465-1206 for information or to schedule an appointment or visit cmchealth.net.

Vice-Director Sheppard said, “This free holiday event is a way for us to share the joy of the season with our residents and visitors to the Cape May County Zoo.”
This special event is free and open to the public. So take your camera and the entire family to the Cape May County Zoo for a day of holiday fun.
