Nationally and internationally recognized keynote speaker

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY — On Thurs., Oct. 13, 2016, Sea Isle City’s Municipal Alliance Committee, the Sea Isle City Board of Education, the Sea Isle City Police Department and other partners in the community will sponsor two free presentations titled Sea Isle City Fights Heroin…What You Need To Know. These informative outreach sessions will be offered to two specific segments of the community: Senior Citizens and Adults & Parents.
Both presentations, which will be led by renowned speaker John Kriger, of Kriger Consulting, Inc., will take place inside the former Sea Isle City Public School building at 4501 Park Road.
The presentation for Seniors in the community, called What Grandparents Need to Know, will begin with a complimentary luncheon served to all participants at 1:30 p.m. on October 13. Immediately after lunch, there will be a 90-minute presentation that will inform seniors about the importance of securing medications in the home and the risks unsuspecting family members face when relatives “raid” their medicine cabinets for prescription drugs. At the conclusion of this presentation, Mr. Kriger will answer questions from the audience.
At 6:00 p.m. on October 13, Adults and Parents are invited to a 90-minute presentation called What Kids Know and You Don’t. This highly acclaimed session offers an impactful overview and the most up-to-date information available on adolescent behavioral trends, focusing intensely on the two primary issues facing parents and professionals today: Opiates and Extractions. Parents will learn the most current information on high-risk behaviors and how they are drastically changing the risk potential for every family. Following a question-and-answer session, pizza and salad will be served to audience members at the conclusion of this enlightening and informative program.
“There is a very serious epidemic taking place in our society, and we invite the public to join us on October 13 for these important presentations, during which some startling information will be shared,” said Mayor Leonard Desiderio, Chairman of Sea Isle City’s Municipal Alliance Committee. “We greatly appreciate people taking the time to join us as we explore these very serious topics – because these problems are happening across our country and in our own back yards.”
Sea Isle City Fights Heroin…What You Need To Know is being presented with the support of several community partners, including Acme Markets, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce & Revitalization, First Bank of Sea Isle City and Wawa Markets.
