Tutor Training Workshop To Be Held at the Ocean City Free Public Library

By Press Release

OCEAN CITY – If the New Year finds you wanting to have an impact in your community, consider becoming a volunteer for Literacy Volunteers Association Cape-Atlantic (LVA). LVA’s 15-hour tutor training workshops will prepare you to work with adults who want to improve their reading, writing and English language skills. Registration is now underway for the next training workshop.
Tutor Training consists of three-hour classes, held once a week for five weeks. The upcoming workshop at the Ocean City Free Public Library will meet for five consecutive Saturday mornings, 9 a.m. to noon, beginning Jan. 20 and continuing until Feb. 10. In case of a weather cancellation, Feb. 24 is scheduled as a makeup date.
The Ocean City Free Public Library is located at 1735 Simpson Avenue.
For detailed volunteer or registration information, please call the Literacy Volunteers office at 609-383-3377, or visit the Literacy Volunteers’ website, www.lvacapeatlantic.org for information and applications. Share your ability to read and speak English; adult students are waiting for your help.
Give the gift of literacy; it lasts a lifetime.
