TUCKAHOE — The Tuckahoe United Methodist Church announces the retirement of Rev. Jim Rixon effective June 30, 2017. Rev. Rixon has served the Tuckahoe congregation for 14 years; from 1993-2000 and again in 2010-2017.
With Rev. Rixon’s leadership our church has implemented important outreach programs including Grief Share and Cancer Support groups, youth ministry and many mission projects to help our local communities. While he is leaving Tuckahoe, he will continue to pastor at Trinity United Methodist Church in Margate. Pastor Rixon is working closely with the church’s transition team for a smooth transition from his tenure to that of the new pastor.
Rev. Rixon’s last sermon at Tuckahoe UMC will be Sun., June 11. Following the worship service a luncheon will be held to honor Pastor Rixon, his wife Nancy and their family. We invite you to join us on Sun., June 11 at 10:30 a.m.
