MARMORA — Trinity United Methodist Church in Marmora will host a Japanese – United States Friendship Concert on Sat., Feb. 27, 2016 at 4:00 p.m., featuring the internationally acclaimed brass quintet, The Gutz, and award winning coloratura soprano, Yukiko Ishida.
The Gutz in an all brass quintet formed in Japan in 2002 with international performances beginning in 2005. Their 2016 American tour begins with this weekend performance at Trinity United Methodist Church. The members of this prestigious quintet are composed of Shigeto Seki and Yuko Fujii on trumpet, Akitoshi Makise on Trombone, Yoh Wakaki on French Horn and Tsutomu Ienaka on Tuba. The quintet will be joined by the award winning coloratura soprano, Yukiko Ishida, and the Neumann University Concert Chorale from Aston, Pennsylvania. Featured music will range from the secular with Broadway selections to the religious including “Hallelujah” from the Messiah.
Admission is free and includes a light supper immediately following the concert in the Trinity Fellowship Hall.
Trinity United Methodist Church is located at 20 U.S. 9, Marmora, NJ. The facility is handicap accessible and parking is free.
