CAPE MAY – U.S. Coast Guardsmen will participate in numerous Veterans Day events to help commemorate the service of America’s military members, Saturday, Nov. 11.
The Coast Guard Training Center Cape May’s ceremonial staff will provide buglers, a color guard and firing parties at a number of community events in honor of Veterans Day. Senior officials from the training center are also expected to be present.
“This Veterans Day, we would like to recognize the recruits and how they have chosen to serve their country by joining an honorable service with more than 227 years of history and tradition,” said Capt. Their selfless service and devotion to duty is what truly makes this nation great.”
Saturday morning, service members at Training Center Cape May will begin Veterans Day with a ceremony at the Signalman 1st Class Douglas Munro Memorial here at the training center. Active duty and prior service members, including members of local veterans’ organizations, will attend the ceremony.
