The 4-H Teen Ambassadors is a community service based club that has been around since that late ‘90s. The Teen Ambassadors have organized projects such as an “Adopt A Road” which identified a street in our town which needed to be cleaned up, a toy box drive where we collected toys for underprivileged children in Africa, and a clean-up at the Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum where we helped clean the planes and exhibits.
The club also attends conferences such as the South Jersey Teen Conference, a leadership building weekend where participants learn and expand upon their leadership skills, and the Peer Leadership Conference, where the Teen Ambassadors help set up the event and speak about leadership skills, team building and outreach techniques.
In all, the Teen Ambassadors has made a mark on local and global communities, and is a valuable learning experience for any teen interested. This year’s active members included Coryn Dykhouse, Annabella Halbruner, Jimmy Papperman, Colby Schalek and Erin Schalick. Club leaders are Nicole Simpkins, Nicoletta Schalek and Tracey Schalek.
