Sunshine Hope Founder to Bring Inspirational Message to Ocean City Library

By Press Release

OCEAN CITY – Kelley Osborne Faust spent ten years in pharmaceutical sales before discovering her true calling—helping others help themselves.
While on extended bed rest with her second set of twins, Kelley had plenty of time to think. It was a trying time. But a strong determination to meet her challenges and support of family and friends pulled her through.
“I realized that facing these challenges, we can either feel sorry for ourselves or deal with the accompanying pain,” she said. “Fortunately I learned from the challenges and moved forward. I found that sharing my experiences with others made me realize that I was not alone. It made the load lighter and easier to handle.”
Kelley was so inspired that in 2007, while a resident of Ocean City, she founded Sunshine Hope, an organization designed to bring a positive message to school children and people of all ages. In short, Kelley creates ways for people to find support and friendship, seek refuge from stress and feel better about their lives and the world around them.
Since 2007, Kelley has visited schools, nursing homes, prisons, hospitals, cancer support groups and others delivering the message to appreciative audiences. On Tue., Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. she will bring Sunshine Hope to the Ocean City Library, 17th and Simpson Ave. The free program will be held in Room 116. Enter the building from the 17th St. Parking Lot.
All are invited to attend. This interactive and fun program centers around “The Possibility Promise” and inspires children and adults alike to see the power within themselves to create the life of their dreams.
“I give real life examples of dreamers who have changed the world, Walt Disney, for example” says Kelley “We talk about tough times and the kids are very forthcoming about the challenges they have experienced. We let them know that they are not alone and can find power within themselves and support within their community.”
The Possibility Promise asks kids to sign their names to a document that includes power statements like: “I believe that I am special and have the power to make my dreams come true.” “I will work hard and be my own best friend. I will make my world a better place and live a better life as a result.”
“We ask the children to print the document, sign it, date it, attach a photo and hang it in their room or a place they go to recharge. We want them to see that piece of paper after they have had a tough day to inspire them to keep going forward,” says Kelley.
