OCEAN CITY – The congregation of St. John Lutheran Church in Ocean City invites the public to join them in a celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation on Oct. 29 at noon in the church Fellowship Hall.
In Oct. of 1517, Martin Luther sparked the Protestant Reformation by posting his Ninety-five Theses on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany. St. John Lutheran Church will commemorate that historic event with a Reformation Celebration Day which will include a presentation about the Reformation through spoken word, song and food. The celebration will include a luncheon featuring German specialities, featuring brats, potato salad and Black Forest cake. The lunch will be free of charge, but reservations are required.
