COURT HOUSE – The Spring Meeting of the New Jersey Beekeepers Association (NJBA) will be hosted by the Jersey Cape Beekeepers Association (JCBA), one of nine branches of the NJBA. It will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Cape May County a 4-H Fair ground located at 355 Courthouse-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 pm and is open to the public.
NJBA President Seth Belson will provide opening comments, followed by an exhibit of the newly-acquired “red-dot” informational kiosk. There will be outdoor demonstrations on hiving an artificial swarm, splitting a hive, comparing package bees on different foundation types and different feeding programs and queen-rearing activities. There will be honey bee-friendly plants for sale, and vendors of equipment, beeswax and honey products have been invited. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served for preregistered RSVP’s.
