The Shore Blazers 4-H Equine Club was established in 2006. Members include Kelly Suter, Victoria McCann, Caitie Tomlin, Andrew Heim, Emily Hess, Elise Heim and Robbie Elwell.
Our members had another busy year showing their horses and ponies. Not only do they ride in 4-H events, but they all successfully compete in horse shows in more than a handful of states throughout the year! When they are not in the saddle, they can be found providing care for their animals and working on researching topics of interest for their annual public presentations at county and state levels. Most importantly, they participate in serving their community and beyond by assisting an outstanding organization called Operation Christmas Child, a mission on behalf of Franklin Graham and Samaritan Purse which brings Christmas joy to needy children from impoverished countries by sending shoe boxes filled with gifts and the good news of Jesus Christ.
From year to year, each of our members have represented the Cape May County 4-H Youth Program very well, holding titles such as: Senior Equestrian of the Year, Junior Equestrian of the Year, Outstanding 4-H Youth Member Award (both Senior and Junior) and Grand and Reserve Champions at the New Jersey State 4-H Horse Show. Our members have also attended the South Jersey Teen Council, and are members of the Cape May County 4-H Teen Ambassador Club.
