WHITESBORO – Cape Human Resources (CHR), Inc., a private, non-profit, social services organization, has received a $500 donation for its Food Pantry program from ShopRite Partners in Caring to help feed economically disadvantaged individuals and families in Cape May County, New Jersey.
“This generous donation will help our Food Pantry address the nutritional needs of the increasing number of needy families who are being affected by current economic conditions,” William Harris, CHR’s executive director said. “The number of clients has been increasing over the past three years due to the serious impact of the recession on low-income families in Cape May County.”
The check was donated to Cape Human Resources officials during a brief announcement at the Rio Grande ShopRite Store on Route 47, on March 20, 2012. Two store employees were also honored for helping to raise funds for the check donation. Present for the announcement were Cape Human Resources Board President Johnnie Ponzie; Executive Director William Harris; and Food Pantry Director Vera Smith. ShopRite Partners was represented by its community relations spokesperson, Orien Reid, a former and longtime television consumer affairs news reporter.
