Shoemaker Hollies Tour Herald Building

By Al Campbell

RIO GRANDE – The Shoemaker Hollies, a social group from Stone Harbor, toured the Herald Building Jan. 20.
During their hour-long visit they learned how the news is collected and edited, how advertising programs enable the operation, and then how news and advertising are combined and prepared for publication.
Herald staff members who met with the group included Advertising Coordinator Jennifer McDonnell, Hubmaster and Social Media Coordinator Erin Haskell, Advertising Account Executive Debra Harris, Media Manager Steven Dunwoody, Creative and Client Services Graphic Artist Annette Champagne, Classified Advertising Department Head Janet Seitz and Classified Advertising Representative Rachel Hamann and Managing Editor Alfred Campbell.
The Shoemaker Hollies tour sites throughout the county on a monthly basis to gain an insight into various aspects of the people and local economy.
