Second Annual ‘Unity Day’ Held in Wildwood

Unity Day Prayer

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – A Unity Day was held at the vacant lot of Eureka Baptist Church in Wildwood Oct. 21. “The event was inspired by seeing all the hatred expressed throughout the country that the churches wanted to invite the community to unite to show how we ought to respond, in love,” stated by Jenn Bolling, who helped organize the event. “We wanted to do something that was fun and free to bring the community together. We received a lot of donations from local businesses and we greatly appreciated all who helped,” Bolling shared.
The event had a bouncy house, face painting, various baked goods donated by members of the churches involved. A popcorn machine, corn hole toss game, and a handmade football toss that was donated by Patty Behren, a member of one the churches. Also, available were resource tables, such as CURE, Cape Assist, Hope Pregancy, and more. There was a worship service under a tent where the churches took turns singing, sharing testimonies, acting out dramas and sharing the Word of God.
“This is our second year having this event and the turnout was much bigger than last year,” Bolling mentioned. “We are hoping next year will be even greater!”
The Wildwood Police and Fire Departments were in attendance. The police brought coffee and went around talking to the people of the community. Additionally, the Cape May County Sheriff Department had McGruff and the Sheriff Explorers at the event being led by Sheriff Clifford.
At the end of the event, everyone that was there came together to pray for the community. The churches involved were: Crest Community Church of Wildwood Crest, Eureka Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Iglesia Cristiana Oasis de Bendición, Iglesia Ministerio Cielo Abiertos of Wildwood, Iglesia Pozo de Restauracion of  the Villas, John Wesley AME Church of Swaiton, and Mount Olive Baptist Church of CMCH.
