SEA ISLE CITY — The Knights of Columbus, Madonna Maria Council #3560 of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sea Isle City recently completed their seasonal blood drive of the summer.
This year’s participation out performed last year’s effort by 10 pints by reaching 39 pints and exceeding the expected current goal of 32 pints. Throughout the years of running this blood drive the total number of pints donated is approaching 1000.
In conjunction with the Red Cross of Cape May County, the Knights of Columbus, through their Chairman Sir Knight Joe Koch and assisted by Knight Walter Sheridan, accomplished a record turn-out.
One startling fact was the donation by 2 Canadians who were in Sea Isle for their vacation and took notice of the door posters and church bulletin announcements and were inclined to participate. We heartily thank our northern neighbors for their life giving generosity.
The Red Cross set-up in the church hall at 43rd and Central and hours for the donation ran from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., a long day but obviously a very successful day.
Congratulations to the Knights of Columbus at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Sea Isle City for accomplishing this very real, critical lifesaving accomplishment.
