Sea Isle has events for all ages

By On Deck Staff

This summer, Sea Isle City will be hosting many family and recreational events.
Ongoing events include Sea Isle’s “Free Concerts Under the Stars” every Monday evening with a host of different musicians.
A few of the bands scheduled to perform are The Mango Men, playing Beach Rock/Pop/Country, Rock ‘n Roll bands Juicy and Just in Time, and a Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band called Jimmy and the Parrots.
New this year is a Farmers Market, consisting of vendors selling Jersey Fresh produce including vegetables, fruit, herbs, and flowers.
Sea Isle will also offer two biweekly events on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The first is a “Guided Beachcombing” that will be at the north end of town on Tuesdays and the south end on Thursdays.
The second biweekly event on Tuesdays and Thursdays is called “Free Movies Under the Stars”, featuring family-friendly movies that will begin at dusk.
There are also “Free Family Night Dance Parties” every Wednesday with DJ Jeff playing popular dance favorites.
June has many events, starting with Skimmer Weekend Festival, the Sara the Turtle Festival, and the Dog Show Contest.
July will offer the annual Fireworks show, Jr. Olympics, Baby Parade, and the Beach Patrol Mascot Races. August includes National Night Out and the Heritage Surf and Sport Movie Night.
These are just a few of the various events hosted by the Sea Isle City Tourism and Recreation Departments. There are also many recreational programs throughout the summer that include aerobics classes, playground activities for children, and a variety of camps including basketball, soccer, dance, and lacrosse.
