SEA ISLE CITY – On Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization (SICCCR), in cooperation with the City of Sea Isle City, officially kicked-off the holiday season during the resort’s annual Holiday Extravaganza at Excursion Park, where thousands of people enjoyed free ice skating, live entertainment, visits with Santa Claus, a tree lighting ceremony, complementary refreshments, and a Christmas Parade that featured decorated fire engines from across the region, string band music, a holiday float carrying Saint Nick, and other participants.
Following the parade, which took place on Friday evening, Mayor Leonard Desiderio was joined on stage by Santa Claus, a crowd of children, SICCCR President Christopher Glancey and other dignitaries to lead the audience in a series of Christmas Carols before flipping a switch that illuminated a giant Christmas tree. Then, a trophy was presented to Woodbine Fire Department for the best-decorated engine in the Christmas Parade,
In addition to the excitement at Excursion Park during the Holiday Extravaganza, many people also enjoyed shopping in Sea Isle City during “Small Business Saturday,” during which customers at participating businesses were entered in a drawing for a big-screen television, provided by the SICCCR. The winner of the TV was Denise Mann, of Huntingdon Valley, PA.
