SEA ISLE CITY – Each year, approximately 1000 people enjoy Sea Isle City’s award-winning Beachcomber Guided Tours. These popular interpretive beach walks have been entertaining and educating beach-goers for more than two decades. To raise money for the one-hour Beachcomber Tours, which cost only $1 to tour-takers, the Sea Isle City Environmental Commission hosts an annual Turtle Party each spring. This year’s Turtle Party will take place on Sunday, May 22, at the Lobster Loft Restaurant, 42nd Place and the Bay in Sea Isle City, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $20 per person, which includes a dinner buffet, live music and dancing. There will also be numerous raffles and plenty of socializing during the Turtle Party.
According to Beachcomber Director Eleanor Moore, tickets for the 2011 Turtle Party will be limited.
“The turtle party is very well attended each year,” says Moore. “It’s one of the first spring parties in town and people really look forward to attending. All of the funds raised during the Turtle Party will go directly the Environmental Commission to subsidize the beachcomber program.”
“We are also looking for new beachcomber guides for our weekly tours, which take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings during the summer,” added Moore, who has been a Beachcomber volunteer since 2000. “Being a tour guide is easy and fun, and it’s a great way to make a positive impact on the community. We train all of our new guides and ensure that they have all the information they need so they feel comfortable while leading tours.”
