SEA ISLE CITY – The Sea Isle City Beach Patrol Alumni Association hosted their annual Hall of Fame Dinner Aug. 13 at the Lobster Loft Restaurant, where a bevy of past and present lifeguards gathered to socialize, reminisce and honor the 2016 Hall of Fame inductees.
This year’s Hall of Fame honorees are Tim Barton, an attorney living in Havertown, PA, who worked as a lifeguard with the SICBP from 1984 to 1990; Eugene Riley, a salesman from Lafayette, PA, who guarded beaches in Sea Isle City from 1973 to 1980; and Pat Moran, an employee of the University of Pennsylvania Hospital who lives in Roslyn, PA. While serving with the SICBP from 1973 to 1986, Moran reached the rank of Lieutenant.
According to Alumni Association President John McCann, the Hall of Fame Dinner is greatly anticipated each year.
“Our 2016 Alumni Dinner was outstanding,” said Mr. McCann. “Many of Sea Isle’s former lifeguards look forward to this event each summer because it’s a great opportunity to share fond memories and spend time with old friends. It’s also very exciting to be on hand when the new inductees are welcomed into the Hall of Fame.”
The SICBP Alumni Association’s Hall of Fame was first organized in 2001. Since then, 40 inductees have been honored. To become a member of the Hall of Fame, potential inductees can be nominated by their peers or any member of the public.
