Woodbine Elementary School Celebrates Puerto Rican Culture

Woodbine– The Woodbine Elementary School celebrated its 22nd annual Puerto Rican Cultural Festival on Thursday, Nov 19.
The schools bilingual and English as a second language teacher Aida Nieves, has been responsible for the celebration since 1987 the first year they celebrated Puerto Rican culture at school.
Nieves educates the students on the cultural history and dances of Puerto Rico. The students then go on to perform before parents and community members.
Parents also enjoy ethnic foods provided by Puerto Rican community members.
