CREST HAVEN — Twenty students in the Pastry Arts class at Cape May Tech recently participated in the second annual Iron Chef competition to create edible works of art, all of which had to use peanut butter in some form.
Gold medal winners were Len Amon, John Kayanan and Corey McCluskey who created a sugar hawk, the school’s mascot, in a spun sugar nest with white chocolate covered cake “eggs.”
The silver medal was won with a chocolate tsunami wave over chocolate sponge cake made by Peter McGlade and Raymond Payne.
Third place and bronze medal went to Kristi Gentek and Patrick Jake for a three-flavored cheesecake sampler with flavored smoothies in cups sculpted in chocolate.
