Five area school children have had their artwork professionally published in holiday cards sent by Atlantic City-based law firm Cooper Levenson. The children are winners in the firm’s holiday art contest designed to engage students in the arts. This year’s winners are fifth, sixth and eighth graders from Atlantic City, Egg Harbor City, Hamilton Township/Mays Landing, Atlantic City, Dennisville, and Hammonton, N.J.
“The students really captured this year’s theme of Home for the Holidays,” said Kenneth J. Calemmo, Chief Operating Officer. “We had so many wonderful entries that it was a difficult decision to choose the winners.”
Cooper Levenson awarded top honors to the following five students:
- Atlantic City: Sohe Shomyha, eighth grade, Richmond Avenue School
- Dennisville: Caitlin McGurk, sixth grade, Dennis Township Middle School
- Egg Harbor City: Lilly Traina, eighth grade, Egg Harbor City Community School
- Hamilton Township/Mays Landing: Tracy Wang, eighth grade, William Davies Middle School
- Hammonton: Brianna Gazarra, fifth grade, Warren E. Sooy School
Winners received a $50 gift card and a cupcake party for their classes. The students’ teachers also received a $100 gift card to use for class supplies or a party.
The Cooper Levenson holiday cards noted that, in lieu of holiday gifts, the firm is making a contribution to the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City.
