Each student wrote an essay on what charity they would like to donate $100 to and the reasons why.

Cape May County Technical School
Students from the Communication Arts Technology class at the Cape May County Technical High School were recognized recently for their production of an anti-underage drinking television campaign in association with Cape Assist.
Using the slogan “Better Things to Do,” the PSAs premiered during Alcohol Awareness Month in April and will air during prom season and graduation in June to encourage healthy decisions.
Dennis Township
About fifty teachers, seventh and eighth graders, and family members played in an early morning tournament of ultimate Frisbee recently. This tournament was held at the Dennis Township Middle School fields to the soundtrack of student-selected music. Seven teams played single elimination games until only one remained and was granted the Golden Frisbee.
Glenwood Avenue
Fourth grade students from Glenwood Avenue Elementary School graduated from the D.A.R.E. program on April 13, with many family members and friends in attendance. Wildwood Police Department’s D.A.R.E. Officer, Eli Aboud, organized the program and graduation ceremony.
Cape May County Sheriff, Gary G. Schaffer, assisted in giving out the graduation certificates, and the presence of the Canine Unit from his department was one of the highlights of the event.
Poster and essay contest winners were announced and the students received prizes. Tigerman, the non-violent superhero, presented an interactive educational program for the students, teaching the importance of anti-bullying, conflict resolution, respect for self and others, and relaxation techniques using music, dance, and role-play.
The graduation concluded with some tasty treats enjoyed by those who attended.
D.A.R.E., Drug Abuse Resistance Education, is substance abuse prevention education. The curriculum’s content gives kids the skills they need to avoid involvement in drugs, gangs, and violence.
The program is sponsored by the federal government and supported by the local police department. Our thanks go to Wildwood Police Department’s Officer Eli for a remarkable job!
Middle Township
The Middle Township PTA recently held it’s annual Health & Safety Fair. This event was a huge success as usual and many of the attendees stopped by the Bake Sale Table to purchase some home made goodies.
Cat Country was on hand playing tunes to keep everyone dancing. Demonstrations included exercise, nutrition, animal safety, water safety, fire safety, and much more. Blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol screening was available from Cape Regional Nurses.
The evening also had performances from the Art of Gymnastics & Cheer, CMC Sheriff K-9 Unit, and Elementary #2 Band Ensembles. Event Chair Karen Haring did a tremendous job.
Wildwood Catholic High School
Wildwood Catholic High School students participated in the national “Blowing Bubbles for Autism” day. Mrs. Linda Kelly and daughters Morgan and Kate coordinated the event and supplied the student body with bubbles. Students sent bubbles of hope to the skies above for families dealing with autism.
