Bishop McHugh
Shamus Roberts-Campbell, 10, raised $233.16 for Autism Awareness during the 16th Annual Polar Bear Plunge weekend held in Sea Isle City Feb. 13 and 14.
Roberts-Campbell, a fifth grade student at Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School, felt the cause was important because he has two cousins who have autism. He spent the weekend in front of his family’s restaurant, Shoobie’s, located in the downtown area of Sea Isle, asking for donations for the fundraiser.
In return he handed out popcorn, Autism Awareness buttons and bracelets made by his cousin.
A 5K run/1.5 mile walk was also held over the weekend to raise money for autism awareness.
Cape Christian Academy
Cape Christian Academy is pleased to announce enrollment has increased by ten percent since the beginning of January. We have added nine new students to our school.
Two of these students were here last year. Returning eleventh-grader, Jenna Ankney, says the reason she returned is she “really missed her Christian education and all her friends. I really missed not being able to discuss Christian topics with my teachers.”
New parent, Diane Hope, commented, “My girls have only been in this school for a short time, but I already see a change in their behavior and attitude. They are changing spiritually as well as developmentally.”
Administrator John Spriggs attributes the growth to the “goodness of God and our efforts to improve our facility and our programs while offering quality, godly instruction.”
Cape Christian Academy is a pre-K through 12 non-denominational Christian school located in Cape May Court House, drawing students from over 20 churches in the Cape May area.

Middle Township
Audiences will be transported to the highlands of Scotland as Middle Township High School presents Lerner and Loewe’s classic musical Brigadoon as this year’s annual production.
Opening on Broadway in 1947 and running for 581 performances, Brigadoon tells the story of an enchanted Scottish village that appears only once every hundred years. When Tommy Albright and Jeff Douglas, two American hunters, wander in on one of those rare days, they find themselves in another world.
Torn between his modern life and the love he finds in Brigadoon, Tommy is faced with the decision of whether to stay with the woman he loves, Fiona, or return to the brash, fast paced world of 1940s New York City and his impending wedding.
This year’s cast features Taylor Cawley, Hannah DiBruno, Cary Lawson, Isaac Moore, Jarrett Porter, and Elizabeth Roberts as well as a singing ensemble of townspeople and colorful characters.
Memorable songs include the “Almost Like Being in Love”, “Heather on the Hill”, “Come to Me, Bend to Me”, and many others. Students began working on the show in early December and have been rehearsing nearly 20 hours a week.
The show is produced by Kelley Hogg, directed by Deborah Jenkins with Marni McCann as assistant director, choreographed by Nancy Gibson, and accompanied by a live pit orchestra directed by Vincent DuBeau.
Performances will be held at the Middle Township Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 26 at 7:30pm and Saturday, February 27 at 2pm and 7:30pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and $7 for students through the PAC box office (609) 463-1924.
