While studying the food groups and learning about state foods, each student was asked to bring in a food item representing a favorite state. The result was a cornucopia of popular regional foods, some well known, others unique and interesting. Most know oranges are from Florida, potatoes from Idaho and apples from Washington, but who knew green Jell-O was so popular in Utah? With enough of their sample food to share with everyone, students also shared a little history about the given food. Did you know Philly soft pretzels began in 610AD Europe among a group of monks, later popularized in Austria and Germany only to come to Pennsylvania via the Pennsylvania Dutch and then on the Philadelphia?”Middle Township High School Athletic Director, Scott Lodgek, recently announced 21 Panther student-athletes were named Cape Atlantic League First- and Second-Team All-Stars for winter sports.
“We are very proud of our student-athletes for their dedication to their sports and congratulate them on being recognized as leaders among their fellow athletes,” Lodgek said.
First Team:
Wrestling: Ronray Harris (113 pounds)
Boys Basketball: Tom Feraco, Darrell Shelton
Girls Basketball: Lauryn Fields, Lauren Legler
Girls Swimming: Maddie Anagnou (100 freestyle); Amanda Bartha, Audrey Dingler, Meredith Faulkner and Laura Dingler (200M freestyle relay)
Boys Swimming: Adam Vaul (50 freestyle); Rory Daly, Jacob Jefferson, Elliot Dingler, Justin McAnulty (200M freestyle relay)
Second Team:
Wrestling: Kenny Dale (126 pounds),
