Cape May County Special Services School District
Who doesn’t love bubbles? It is evident by the 399 smiling faces during the Cape May County Special Services School District “Bubbles 4 Autism” assembly that everyone young and old does!
This was the schools seventh year supporting the Families for Autistic Children Education and Support (FACES) group efforts to increase Autism awareness by sending our bubbles of hope to the skies. This was also the district’s second year of joining the FACES group efforts to break the Guinness World Book of Records for the most people blowing bubbles simultaneously for one minute. Last year the count fell short by 400 signatures.
The FACES group meets the first Monday of each month at Ocean Academy proving support, education, and family fun activities to the families of children with Autism.

Lower Township
Students at Maud Abrams School have been collecting plastic bottle caps for the past several weeks in support of the student government program at Maud Abrams School and their effort to help our environment. Often these type caps
end up as litter or trash and migrate into our oceans. Birds and other marine creatures mistake them for food with tragic results.
A company called Aveda has begun a partnership with community schools to build a recycling program for these plastic bottle caps. Aveda has chosen more than 1600 schools to help bring awareness to this effort and Maud Abrams School students are proud to be one of those schools.
Wildwood High School
Peer Leaders from Wildwood High School recently coordinated its Kids Caring for Kids program to show their support for our county children during Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention month. During the initiative, 350 Blue Ribbons were distributed and worn by students and staff as part of Cape May County’s Show Kids You Care Campaign.
The Faculty also participated in a “Causal 4 Kids” day by wearing blue and dressing down in order to contribute $200 to the Caring For Kids program for its direct services to neighborhood children.
Wildwood teacher coordinator, Paula Lucas, said “Coming together and wearing blue, was just one small way for all of us to demonstrate our help and our hope of making this a Blue Ribbon World for all of our children”.
