Bishop McHugh
Students in preschool through grade 8 were recognized for embodying the Gospel value of Joy at the November 25 Mass at Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School. The Fruit of the Spirit awards are presented monthly to students who exhibit the attributes of a Christian life: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
in other news, Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School has appointed a Lay Advisory Board, a group of professionals from the four Parishes affiliated with the school. The volunteer board meets monthly to advise the school on matters ranging from recruitment and community outreach to student programs, grants and funding opportunities, technology, and more.
“These are professionals who are truly invested in the future of Catholic education,” said Principal Tom McGuire. “They bring expertise from many walks of life, and share an interest in helping our students succeed. They are an integral part of our school’s administrative team and we value their input.”
Members of the Lay Advisory Board were appointed by recommendations of the Parish clergy of St. Joseph Rectory of Sea Isle City; Our Lady of Angels of Cape May Court House; St. Brendan the Navigator Parish of Avalon/Stone Harbor; and Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish of Woodbine/Marmora/Goshen. Board members include Danielle Fox, president; Martin Radzieta, vice president; Kathy Filippo, secretary; Julie Grimes, secretary; and members Mike Klein, Jeanette Powers, Bob Dooley, and Kate Klemick. They will serve for a three-year term.

Per school tradition, on November 26, Cape Christian Academy held their annual Grandparent’s Day. As families prepare to gather for Thanksgiving break, the school takes the opportunity to welcome the students grandparents and other important family and friends to a special morning of recognition and fellowship. A light lunch was served and classes entertained their honored guests with prepared performances.
