Cape Christian Academy
“Love of Reading Week” at Cape Christian Academy got off to a great start October 14 with guest readers, CMC Children’s Librarian, Kelli Large, and, Pamela Witkowsky, otherwise know as “Auntie Pam”, and Grandma to first grader, Anthony Unkle.
Dressed in storyteller garb, they shared their favorite read aloud books. Wednesday, parent and grandparent readers visited classes during library time, and Thursday, local Christian author, Jennifer Lawson, read from three of her books, Celebrate Your Differences, one for girls, the other for boys, and Love Day, a story about sharing God’s love. Friday, our reading emphasis week culminated in a Storybook Parade, with students dressed as their favorite storybook character followed by a special breakfast in honor of our pastors and in recognition of Pastor’s Appreciation Month.
