COURT HOUSE – Cape Women’s Resource Fund is accepting applications for its scholarship program for young women in Cape May County who will graduate from high school in June and attend college in Sept.
To be eligible, young women must have sustained at least a B average throughout high school and have been accepted to either a two or four-year school and provide proof of that acceptance. They must be residents of Cape May County and have been active in community involvement or community service during their high school years.
In addition, each applicant must submit a 500-word essay on one of these two topics:
“Should there be a requirement in this country for every student to dedicate at least two years to military or public service either immediately after high school or after college?”
“Do you think women are equal to men in all aspects of our society? Why or why not?”
Applicants must submit essays and required documentation that they meet the criteria by May 19 to Cape Women Resource Fund, Box 903, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210 or to Christine Cote, 3409 Bybrook Drive, Villas, NJ 08251. Further information is available through guidance counselors at local high schools. Winners will receive a $1000 scholarship.
