Rutgers Cooperative Extension is offering a women’s farm business management program. RCE will present Annie’s Project: Farm Women Conference in three locations on Feb. 20, 21 and 22, 2013. This single day, intensive training session and networking opportunity allows women who are unable to commit to a full course receive great programming in one day. Women will be able to choose one of three locations and choose a learning track. The conference is being offered on Feb. 20 at Cumberland County College, 3322 College Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360; on Feb. 21 at the Conference Center in Mercer, 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ 08550; and on Feb. 22 at The University Center, Drew University, 36 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ 07940.
Three learning tracks are being offered: 1) Estate Planning, 2) Financial Management and Insurance and 3) Business Plan Development. The Estate Planning track will teach about family communication methods, farm transfer basics, farm conservation, wills and trusts and estate taxes. The Financial Management and Insurance track will teach women to construct a financial plan, learn about crop, health and life insurance, understand financial goals and how to save money on taxes. The Business Plan Development track offers a full day of guided writing ending with a draft of your farm business plan.
In addition to the education, Annie’s Project: Farm Women Conference offers the chance to meet and learn from other farm women, network with potential customers and form connections with industry professionals. The full day conference and networking lunch costs $25.00 for the day.
