COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Bar Association announced that Middle Township High School was declared winner of the Cape May County High School Mock Trial Competition after winning six out of six possible trials during Cape May County’s three-week long competition at the Cape May County Superior Court. Competitions were held in January.
Middle competed Feb. 4 against Cherry Hill West, and lost at the Southern Regional Competition.
The Cape May County Bar Association is “Very proud of Middle Township for advancing to the state competitions and representing Cape May County,” stated Michele Devine-Hartnett, executive director of the Cape May County Bar Association, in a release.
“We would also like to thank Cape May County Technical School, Lower Township High School and Wildwood Catholic High School for participating in this year’s competition. We hope they are looking forward to next year’s competition,” she added.
Middle Township Mock Trial consisted Morgon Goranson, Victoria Shappell, Lauren Anderson, Gabrielle Giuliano, Austin Hentges, Nick Stella, Dillon Keller, Kassandra Ramos, Tim Gear, Casie Salvadore, Robert Cline, Emma Carlson, Joe Scioli.
The Teacher Coach was Martina Trapani; Alumni Coaches were Nina Ranalli and Samantha Burkholder. Attorney Coach was Howard Trout.
Mock Trial coordinators James Moore and Brett Yore did a great job in coordinating the program, Devine-Hartnett stated.
There will be an awards ceremony May 1 at a Law Day ceremony at the courthouse where Middle Township’s team will be presented with its trophy and certificates for the entire Mock Trial Team. That event will be open to the public.
